The story so far.

After a phone call with a recruitment consultant in 2001, he asked, “Have you ever heard of AV?” My honest reply was, “Erm… what’s AV? Oh wait, overhead projectors?”.

More than two decades later, you can’t move without seeing AV in action — from meeting rooms and lecture theatres to retail spaces and live events. Yet people still need reminding what audio visual actually means, what it enables, and how it brings ideas to life in a more connected, interactive way.

After nearly 12 years on AV Magazine and running the magazine for seven years where I helped us to realign our strategy to focus on our industry and sharing the successes. I met and worked with amazing people in this industry and the same people still inspire me today.

A client lunch changed everything (and funnily enough, I started to use my marketing degree), I went from running AV Magazine to becoming Marketing Director at Clevertouch and also Sahara Distribution for eight years.

My university degree in Marketing wasn’t wasted in any part of my career, in fact all those things I learned have helped enable success. However, the degree got me so far, real-life situations, finding solutions and ideas to best fit the needs of the businesses I worked for business and Clevertouch becoming the fifth largest global brand for interactive displays.

All of the projects I worked on considered these key questions: Why are doing this? Who are we trying to reach? What do they want to know? How we can get it right? Let’s waste our time on vanity when sanity is achieving results.

I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit in every business I’ve worked in, and from there, my own personal change with AJK Creates emerged. A boutique Marketing and PR agency that speaks your language and wants to understand you and customer base whilst looking for new ways to inform and engage your internal and external communications. I’ve already worked on some great projects with Candeo Vision, CTI, Unicol and continue to evolve the LTSMG brand. All of which had different requirements, and I found a way to tailor the marketing and PR to best suit them.
